Editorial: Kim Kardashion Rocks L'uomo July/August Issue For the First Time

The most famous of the Kardashians, Kim covers July - August issue of L'Uomo Vogue. I love how cool and different the concept is. It’s not often you see Kim wear a short wig for a shoot, but this was all about creating a new look and escaping the paparazzi. Is it just me or she looks like her mum Kris here?

This Vogue cover is likely to get as much (or even more) buzz and it's Kim Kardashian’s first ever Vogue cover, for L’Uomo Vogue‘s July-August issue. Kim won’t just be on newsstands for one month–a celebrity of her caliber definitely needs two.

The black and white cover image, shot by Francesco Carrozzini (who, fun fact, is Franca Sozzani’s son), is nearly identical to that Instagram Kim teased us with almost exactly a month ago, minus the requisite over-saturation. Shot in LA’s Chinatown, the accompanying editorial entitled “Just Unconventional” shows a wigged-out Kim looking incognito (or, a lot like her momager Kris) as she’s swarmed by the paps and chased through a parking garage.
The accompanying interview, which is at times amusingly translated from Italian, is filled with some gems of its own (though they are Kardashian-approved gems, as “questions on sex tapes, books, records, videos, films, and above all marriages and divorces” were all strictly off limits). According to the piece, Kim is “beautiful. Very beautiful. She speaks in a calm voice and uses language well.” Oh, and Kanye was there for the whole interview.

A few examples of her eloquence:
On her “Californian lineage”:
“Yes I was born rich; it was a classic Californian lineage: lavishness and ostentation, luxury mansions with pools, private clubs, exclusive friendships, and luxury cars. Despite the affluence, at only 31 I’ve been able to build my own empire in the world of entertainment and, although looks and friendships are important, I want the new generation to understand that if you don’t believe in yourself and in your own ideas, you go nowhere.”

On keeping her relationship with Kanye West private:
“Everyone is always watching me, I’m under constant observation, everywhere I go there’s a camera following me, in the gym, when I do the shopping, and if I decide to go out without make-up it makes news throughout the world. This is why I don’t want to reveal anything about my relationship with Kanye. In the past I suffered a lot because of my honesty, and when it didn’t work I was criticized and treated badly: I can only say that now, with him, I’m happy.”

On her religious servitude, love of sex, and hatred of flavorful herbs:
“I would have liked to be a teacher, I always say prayers before going to bed, I would have liked to spend more time with my dad and speak with my fans. I adore pizza, gelato, and I like making love, I hate cilantro, I have a collection of 224 pairs of Louboutin and I’m scared to death of spiders.”
